Recipe #16 Homemade Butter Paneer

HOW TO MAKE 
Butter Paneer

This dish is  filled with vibrant flavours and makes a perfect meal for your loved ones.

Cooking time: 30 minutes 




Ingredients :


  1. 500 grams of Cottage cheese also known as (Paneer)
  2. 2 tbsp. olive oil
  3. 1 onion chopped finely
  4. 2 large tomatoes chopped
  5. 1 tsp. turmeric
  6. 1 tsp. red chilli powder
  7. 1 tbsp.tandoori masala
  8. 1 tbsp. Sunday Masala it can be substituted with more tandoori masala if you don't have this 
  9. 1 tsp. salt
  10. 4 tbsp. butter
  11. 1/2 tsp. red colouring powder (I use BUSH, you can use any brand you like)
  12. 1/2 cup of Cashew nuts
  13. 1 1/2cups of water and 5 tbsp. water
  14. 2 tbsp. yoghurt
  15. 2 tbsp. sunflower oil
  16. 1 1/2 tbsp. fenugreek dry leaves
  17. Pinch of sugar
Method  :



1.    First heat the olive oil in a large pan and then fry onions until they turn a golden brown colour.
2.    Then place tomatoes in the pan. 
3.    Add the spices (turmeric,chilli,tandoori masala and sunday masala,salt)
4.    Then cook until the spices and tomatoes have incoporated well.
5.    Leave on the side to cool for 10 minutes 
6.    Then place the mixture in a blender and 3 tbsp. water (make sure that there are no remaining bits of tomato in the paste) 
7.    Then return mixture back to the heat .
8.    Then blend chasew nuts and 2 tbsp. water to form a thick white paste.
9.    Then add the cahew paste and incoporate.
10. Add the yoghurt and mix well.
11. After all the ingredients have been incoporated well then add melted butter and mix well , 
12.Then add 2 tbsp. ketchup and sugar ,you may add the food colouring based on your judgment.
13.Then add 1 1/2cups of water and leave to cook.
14. In a frying pan add 2 tbsp. oil and fry the cheese (the more you fry it the harder the cheese will become so try to avoid )
15.Finally add the cheese and fenugreek dry leaves and leave to cook.


Notes :

1. Make sure all the pastes which are blended to have a smooth consistency.
2. Make sure you are constantly stirring when the mixture is on the heat as it can easily burn.
3.Serve with rice or bread.

.Make sure you wash the fenugreek leaves well before adding them to the pan.
