How to make
Reem's Chicken Pulao
Asian Dish
Ingredients:
- 2 inch of ginger
- 8 cloves garlic
- 1 tbsp. water
- 1 large onion diced
- ¼ cup of oil
- 1 tbsp. red chili powder
- 1 tbsp. turmeric
- 1 tbsp. coriander powder
- 1 tbsp. Bombay biryani mix
- ½ tbsp. cumin
- 1 tbsp. salt
- 3 pepper corns
- Defrost Chicken pieces
- 3 cups water
- ½ bunch of coriander leaves chopped
- juice of on large lemon or 2 tbsp. lemon juice.
- 1 large potato cut into several pieces
For Rice:
1. 4 cups water
Method :
1. 4 cups water
2. 1tbsp. oil
3. 1tbsp. salt
4. 2 cups Basmati rice
Part 1
- Place ginger, garlic and 1tbsp. of water and grind in mixer till it forms a paste.
- Take a small bowl and mix all the dry ingredients.
- Then take a large pan and place the oil and heat.
- Then fry the onion in the oil until it turns golden brown.
- Then add the ginger/garlic paste and the dry ingredients and mix well.
Part 2
- Then add defrosted chicken and mix well.
- Then add 3 cups water and bring to a boil.
- Then add the coriander leaves and lemon juice and cook on a slow gas for 30 minutes.
- In a small frying pan fry the pieces of potato just until they get a light brown colour.
- Then add the potato in the chicken mixture.
Part 3
- In a large pan bring 4 cups of water to a boil and oil and salt.
- Then in a separate bowl, wash 2 cups of rice several times (the water should go from cloudy to clear)
- Then drain water from the rice
- Then place the rice in boiling water and cook for 5 minutes (should not be completely cooked).
- Then strain the rice in a sieve (Be careful this process has a lot of steam do not burn yourself)
- Then add rice to the chicken mixture and cook for another 30 minutes.
- Then it is ready to serve.
