Recipe #18 How to make Fondant (Homemade)

HOW TO MAKE 
Fondant from scratch



Ingredients you will need:
  1. 16 oz.  White marshmallows (preferable large size )
  2. 4 cups powdered sugar
  3. 1 tbsp. water
  4. ½ cup Crisco
  5. 3 tbsp. vegetable oil  

Method:
1.     Place all the marshmallows into a large bowl and place into the microwave for 5 min then take the bowl out mix the mixture with a wooden spoon (make sure the spoon has Crisco rubbed on it otherwise the mixture will stick.)
2.    Then return the bowl into the microwave for another 2 mins
3.    Then place 1 cup of sugar onto a surface where you will need the dough
4.    Gradually place the fondant onto the sugar and knead.
5.    Make sure you rub a lot of Crisco onto your hands before kneading
6.    Keep adding the rest of the sugar until you have formed dough.
7.    Then place the fondant and place in a plastic bag and refrigerate.
8.    When you want to use it later on it is preferable to place dough in the microwave only for 1 min and then roll out to use.
